Michael Koops – Drama Coach & Educator
Michael Koops is a Saskatchewan-based educator, actor, and arts consultant with over three decades of experience in drama education. As the Principal of FHQ Virtual School and a seasoned acting coach, he brings deep expertise in performance, directing, and mentorship to every workshop.
He has directed and coached student actors in school productions such as Anybody for Tea by C.B. Gilford, Emotional Baggage by Lindsay Price, and I Don’t Mind That You’re Ugly by Bobby Keniston. Michael has adjudicated front-of-house (acting) at regional drama festivals and led directing workshops at the Saskatchewan Provincial Drama Festival. On stage, he’s performed roles including François-Xavier Lemieux in The Trial of Louis Riel.
Michael’s approach is encouraging, practical, and inclusive. He creates dynamic spaces where students build performance skills, confidence, and creative voice.
